In an ardent display of an exhilarating journey celebrating athleticism and camaraderie, Oshwal Academy Nairobi Primary hosted the resplendent OAN-Primary Annual U11 Cricket tournament on Friday, 8th November 2024 at Simba Union Club grounds. The occasion, which is marked annually as the climax of the cricketing season, was celebrated with an unparalleled enthusiasm and reverence for sports and physical fitness.

With a total of 20 boys’ and girls’ teams, from different schools such as Premier Academy, the Loreto Convent Msongari School, Crawford Academy, Greensteds School, Swaminaryan School, School of the Nations, Samaj School, Aga Khan Academy and Braeburn- Gitanga Road School present, the club’s sprawling grounds resonated with the jubilant cheers of students, encapsulating the essence of a sporting legacy.

The grounds precincts bore witness to a rich tapestry of games that catered to students of all ages and interests. From the graceful artistry of fielding and the elegant finesse of batting to the meticulous precision of bowling, the tournament witnessed a diverse range of talents. Amidst the pulsating intensity of the matches and the delicate finesse of batting, students found themselves immersed in a world where strength and skill merged seamlessly.

It was a pleasure to witness every child, regardless of skill level, embracing the game with unbridled enthusiasm.  Our boys and girls emerged victorious as was evident as the boys’ team were able to scoop the coveted best fielder and best batsman individual awards which were won by Prafentej Dasu and Pratham Shah respectively. The girls were not left behind as Medha Aswin was able to scoop the wicket keeper award with Sofia Baraka scooping the best batter accolade in this very competitive tournament. This was key in instilling to our young athletes that, beyond the accolades and laurels, this day encapsulated the embodiment of values that transcend the sporting arena, instilling in every student the virtues of discipline, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence. The Tournament demonstrated excellent team spirit and good sportsmanship and proved to be a success.
