MSMUN CONFERENCE 2ND TO 5TH FEBRUARY 2021

Every year our students take part in the MSMUN conference held United Nations Headquarters, Gigiri.

This year a total of 16 delegates/ambassadors were accompanied by two teacher advisors in this annual event that was held virtually. The team was seated in our school library and presented their resolutions touching on diverse areas affecting different countries globally. The Building leadership for tomorrow slogan was well captured and mooted by the young ambassadors/delegates.

Year 6 Cambridge Checkpoint Exam

What a way to end the term that was characterized with so much uncertainty? The current pandemic has continued to remind us that change is the only constant thing in life. Covid-19 has changed things overnight.  Not once, not twice and this trend will remain with us a little longer. However, this should not be misconstrued to translate to leaving things to fate. In fact, it means being ready for any occurrences on the shortest notice.

Preparations for this year’s Cambridge Checkpoint Examination were done in good time; registration was complete by the deadline, confirmation of students’ details was done in good time, curriculum coverage and revision were conducted as scheduled. Pre-mock and mock examinations were administered within schedule all in readiness for the first ever Cambridge Checkpoint Examination since the Cambridge Assessment International Education began.

Tuesday 6th April 2021, the D-Day, First Paper; Maths Paper 1, Second Paper English Paper 2, then……. Until the last paper Science Paper 2 on Thursday 8th April 2021. For many of us this was nothing short of a miracle. We had narrowly missed Cambridge Checkpoint Examination last academic year amidst all the preparations we had put in place and with the new development, due to the current pandemic risked missing it for a second time in a row.

Our gratitude goes to the OERB for all the support; the Academic Consultant Mrs. Jyotsna  Chotai for the constant follow up, guidance and updates. The external Examination Officer Mr. Peter Muema, the Primary Campus Committee, Primary Campus SLT and all the teaching and non-teaching staff for their immense support.

Special thanks also go to the year 6 students for their resilience and  the parents for entrusting their children to us during such difficult moments.
