INCLUSIVE EDUCATION (IED)

The Oshwal academy inclusive education fraternity is dedicated to young learners aged 7-20 years.  The school has a long standing reputation for many years of commitment to the Education of special needs students. The school offers individualized learning for every single learner. With modern approaches to learning, we seek to hold the highest ambitions for our learners and lead them to their brightest future.

Curriculum

The Oshwal Academy Primary school is the first of our kind in the country and we are very proud. At Oshwal we believe that learning is maximized when the students apply in real life the concept or skill learnt. It is through the ASDAN curriculum that these students are empowered to practice these vast skills that are structured towards leading them to an independent life. Underpinning the ASDAN curriculum we incorporate development of the student’s social, intellectual, emotional and physical skills that they will rely on for the rest of their lives.

Vocational

Our ASDAN vocational training programmes are Ideal for learners following an alternative progression route. These courses help learners to make progress towards their personal learning and career aims. Increasing learners’ knowledge of different employment sectors helps them to make informed and long-lasting decisions about their post-16 destinations. Some of the programmes offered include but not limited to: photography and multimedia, Hospitality, visual and performing arts, computing vocational taster, land based vocational taster, office assistant vocational taster and now upcoming hair and beauty and fashion and design vocational training tasters. These programmes have seen us have success stories of students who have graduated after successfully completing their vocational courses and are now working in various companies living independent and productive lives.

Achievement

We also capitalize on building the strengths and celebrating the achievements of all our learners. In balancing academics and cocurricular activities, the school term is laced with diverse school events and activities with a range of facilities that support our learners to develop both indoor and outdoor skills.  By creating such enabling environments we impart character creation building on their social and practical skills which help them later in life including providing opportunities for work experience.  These exceptional provisions have led to our learners representing and winning accolades for the academy and for Kenya both at local and international sports realms.
