We made it possible! The week has seen a great deal of sporting action from our young athletes. They have displayed great enthusiasm, skills and sportsmanship when called upon to perform, which they did without fail.

On Saturday 25th January 2025, Our school hosted the PIPSSA interschool U9 and U11 girls’ football tournament. The tournament took place at our school’s playing field, providing a wonderful platform for students to showcase their skills. U9 and U11 girls’ teams from various schools participated in the tournament, competing in multiple matches throughout the day. The atmosphere was lively and supportive, with enthusiastic cheers from parents, teachers, and fellow students creating an exciting environment for the players. The teams played with great enthusiasm and determination, showcasing their growing skills and teamwork.  Our team stood out with their excellent midfield control, and impressed with their solid defensive skills. The teams displayed remarkable effort and spirit throughout the matches. The girls celebrated well-deserved victories in their matches, highlighting their commitment and improvement.

On Saturday 25th January 2025, the annual Interschool Cyclothon took place on at School of the nations, featuring students from various schools participating in different cycling challenges. Students from our school and multiple schools across the region took part in the event, showcasing their enthusiasm and dedication for cycling. The atmosphere was lively and filled with excitement as students, parents, teachers, and supporters gathered to cheer on the participants. Several students displayed exceptional cycling skills. Our students displayed remarkable speed and endurance, with excellent navigation through the course. The event was marked by a strong sense of camaraderie and team spirit. Students cheered each other on and worked together to complete the challenges. The sportsmanship and collaboration displayed by the participants were truly commendable. Many students achieved personal bests, showcasing their dedication and improvement in their cycling abilities. The cycling team emerged second position Overall in the event. Bravo!

On Tuesday 28th January 2025, the U11 Boys and Girls Hockey team invited Brook house Runda school and St. Austin Academy at Oshwal center for a three team hockey fixture. The matches were closely contested, with the team showing resilience and strategic play. They excelled in both offense and defense, and our girls and boys made crucial plays that kept the teams competitive. The players’ dedication and sportsmanship were commendable. Our U11 teams put up a strong fight and achieved thrilling wins in their matches, reflecting their hard work and determination. It was a wonderful afternoon with lots of fun had by all! The teams showed great enthusiasm and perseverance, showing excellent team work. The results for the fixture were:

The newly signed in U7 Soccer Boys and Girls School Team participated in the PIPPSA U7 Soccer Tournament on Wednesday 29th January, at the Light Academy. The warriors outdid themselves again with their brilliant performances and showcased great footballing skills and mastery of the game. The following are the results:

On Friday 31st January 2025 the much-anticipated annual inter-house swimming gala took place at the Primary campus’ Swimming pool. This year’s Inter-House Swimming Gala was a resounding success, with many students, despite their skill level, getting involved and representing their houses. All of the ‘young sharks’ came down to the pool in their year groups and raised the roof with their splendid performances when called upon to, cheering and supporting. Races were timed and results were collated based on times, and we were pleased to be able to award the young champions from each category. 

This was an exciting event and it was a wonderful showcase of our students’ swimming talents, teamwork, and school spirit. The Inter-House Swimming Gala brought together students from all houses to compete in various swimming events, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and relay races. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as parents, teachers, and students cheered on the swimmers.

Several students displayed exceptional swimming skills. The relay races were a highlight of the event, with teams working together seamlessly and demonstrating excellent coordination and sportsmanship. Many students achieved personal bests, showcasing their dedication and improvement in their swimming abilities. Special thanks to the coaches and teachers for their dedication in training and preparing the students for the event.

Congratulations to all the houses and participants for their hard work and achievements. As we reflect on the success of this event, we are excited about the potential and growth of our young swimmers. We look forward to more engaging swimming events and continued development in the weeks ahead. The results for the event will be announce on a later date.

 
On Saturday 1st February 2025, the U9 and U11 boys’ soccer teams are representing the school in the termly PIPSSA interschool football tournament at Crawford International Academy. We wish them all the best as they battle it out in the soccer pitches. Our ‘Young sharks once again will be on road and will be representing our school at the U9 PIPSSA interschool stroke gala at the Regis Academy and we wish them all the best.

Congratulations to all teams on the fantastic effort they’ve put in throughout the week! We are extremely proud of the amazing manner and sportsmanship that all the students have displayed throughout and look forward to our students representing Oshwal Academy to their level best in the upcoming sporting events throughout the term.
