CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES
Co-curricular activities
At Oshwal Academy Nairobi Primary, we offer a wide range of co-curricular activities for all our learners from Year 1 to Year 6 and also in our Inclusive Education Department. The co– curricular activities are timetabled and are conducted at different days for the year groups from Monday to Friday. These activities entail Non -Paid Activities, Paid Activities and Sports training both for school teams and open – morning trainings.
Our Non- Paid Activities are usually timetabled and takes place every Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoons. They are conducted by our able dedicated team of teachers. These club activities include: Art and Craft, Board games, Home Science, Eco club, Scouting, Playground games, Lego, School Band, Oratorical club, Young journalists club and MSMUN.
Paid Activities are conducted by specialists who are external vendors. The club activities are conducted after school hours for one hour from 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm. These activities include Taekwondo, Instrumental Music, Drama, Zumba, Chess, Ballet, Coding, First -Aid, Lamda, Creative Arts and Craft, Badminton, Gymnastics and Yoga.
Our Sports team training for different sports also happen after school hours for one hour. We also have open – morning trainings to take care of the students who did not merit to join the school teams for them to continuously sharpen their sports skills.
National and International Competitions
As a school we deliberately encourage all our students to participate in organised literal competitions such as Essay writing which include The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay writing competition and also the Art competitions like the famous Toyota Dream Car among others. Our students showcase their oratorical skills in the MSMUN event organised by UNEP held at the United Nations headquarters in Gigiri annually, Inter House debate competitions, Nairobi Verse speaking event just to mention a few.
The World Scholar’s Cup Challenge organised by Light International School draw a huge number of competitors from our school. The students bring back accolades and fond memories of interacting with colleagues of diverse backgrounds and put the school on the pedestal it deserves. In the sporting arena, we have had athletes selected to represent the region at both National and International fetes in various sporting activities.
